Families of kidnapped troops to block main roads Thursday

Khodor Zabyan, the brother of kidnapped soldier Seif Zabyan, declared Tuesday that most of the main roads in Lebanon will be blocked on Thursday as the cabinet holds a session.

“We want the voice of the captives’ families to reach the officials in our country that they may act to secure the release of our sons,” he said.

Zabyan apologized to all citizens for obstructing their movements as a result of blocked roads and sit-ins.

The hostage troops and policemen were captured when jihadists from the Nusra Front and the Islamic State militant groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal last August and engaged in fierce battles with the Lebanese army.

Four captives have so far been executed, and the jihadists have threatened to kill the remaining hostages unless there is a deal to free Islamist prisoners in Lebanon.
