MP Gemayel: Corporate extortion at people's expense is shameful

Head of the Kataeb Party MP Samy Gemayel called on Monday for exposing all politicians who are exploiting waste management company Sukleen and the people to achieve personal gains, stressing the necessity of lifting bank secrecy to reveal the names of those who are profiting from the waste dossier.

In a press conference, MP Gemayel expressed his astonishment over delays in resolving the issue, noting that certain “mafias” as controlling Lebanon and its funds.

In this regard, MP Gemayel dubbed the financial gains being made with regards to the waste crisis as shameful, lamenting the higher priority placed on profit making rather than public health, adding "corporate extortion or the blackmailing of certain political parties at the expense of the people is a disgraceful act."
