Residents of Nabatiyeh stage sit-in over electricity, water cuts, and garbage accumulation

Residents of Nabatiyeh staged on Tuesday a sit-in outside the Nabatiyeh Serail to protest the accumulation of garbage in the streets and the electricity and water cuts.

On Saturday, “You Stink" campaign activists and the Union of Lebanese Democratic Youth held a new protest in downtown Beirut to shed light on Lebanon’s ongoing waste management crisis and to slam the officials for failing to find a solution to the problem.

The demonstrators gathered in Beirut's Martyrs Square, criticizing officials for lacking the ability to solve the crisis that emerged following the closure of the landfill in the town of Naameh, south of Beirut, on July 17.
