General Security arrests high ranking IS official

The General Security declared on Thursday that a high-ranking official in the Islamic State group has been apprehended in Lebanon and he has confessed to plotting a series of attacks across the country.

The militant, identified as a Palestinian national, confessed to being “the religious official of the terrorist IS group in the Ain el-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp”, the General Security said in a statement.

He also confessed to forming an IS cell with his brother and another Palestinian refugee.
