LF’s Geagea denounces legislative session to be held despite boycott of 85% of Christians
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Monday that his party is very keen on passing the financial draft laws, adding that no one should take advantage of these laws to achieve political purposes.

“They are claiming that the politicians that will not attend the legislative session are disrupting the country’s stability, but what about those who are obstructing the presidential elections and fighting in Syria?” Geagea asked during a press conference.

This as he confirmed that independent lawmakers only represent themselves, denouncing the fact that a legislative session will take place despite the boycott of the Lebanese forces, the Free Patriotic Movement and the Kataeb party, which form 85% of the Christians.

Addressing Speaker Nabih Berri, Geagea considered him as “the father of the National Pact, saying that a father does not abandon his children nor kill them.”

On another note, Geagea condemned that the citizenship draft-law has been submitted to the parliament since 2003 and is still pending until now, stressing that the funds of the Lebanese expatriates are not more important than the expats themselves.

Speaking of the electoral law, he considered that now is the right time to discuss it.
