Hariri: Presidential vacuum is biggest insult to Lebanese people

Former Prime Minister and Future Movement leader Saad Hariri said on Saturday that Lebanon celebrates its Independence Day this year with “sadness,” adding that the presidential vacuum is an insult to the Lebanese.

“The presidential vacuum is the biggest insult to the Lebanese people on their national day of Independence,” said Hariri via Twitter.

He also noted that the army and legality are the sole guarantors for independence, as the presidency is the sole guarantor for stability of the political system.

“Congratulating the Lebanese on Independence Day will not be complete amid the vacuum at the top state post.”
