Safadi reveals an exit strategy for the overspending issue

Minister of Finance Mohammad Safadi revealed Wednesday his plans of proposing an exit strategy to cabinet ministers pertaining to the overspending issue in hopes of ending the current dispute.

In a talk with Voice of Lebanon radio, Safadi stressed that the solution can be implemented if political backgrounds stay at bay on the fiscal issue.

He added that the government may jump over the legalization issue of over spending for 2011 by pledging to complete the budget within ten days and then sending it to parliament. The budget should be accompanied with a request for advanced treasury payments to secure spending for the coming months.
