Watchfull eye over non-smoking law, fines begin at 130,000 LBP

The Ministry of Health launched Thursday its national awareness campaign pertaining to law #174 which prohibits smoking in public spaces. The campaign coincided with World No Tobacco Day.

Minister of Health Ali Hassan Khalil announced that fines for breaching this law start from 135 Thousand LBP and can reach 4.5 Million LBP.

At the conference, smoking figures were released, with Lebanon topping the list of smokers exceeding the global standards.

Minister of Tourism Fady Abboud was also present at the conference.
