Protests over power cuts and caricatures of Gibran Bassil
The light of burning tires pierced the total darkness that overshadowed all of the Lebanese regions on Monday evening.

At a time when Electricité du Liban (EDL) stressed its keenness on distributing power equally to all Lebanese regions, Lebanese citizens only see equality in the power cuts affecting all regions.
The Lebanese pulled their anger on Energy Minister Gibran Bassil through social media platforms. They posted caricatures of Bassil and wrote statements criticizing his performance despite the minister’s pledge to reach a 24/7 supply of electricity in Lebanon.

With no immediate solution in the horizon, Lebanese citizens are thinking of going back to Kerosene lanterns.
