Israel trains a unit of Druzes on how to infiltrate into Lebanon

The Israeli army chose a special unit of Druzes to train them on how to infiltrate into Lebanon. This unit that was decorated with a medal for excellent performance in the 2006 war is training in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights on a scenario of clashes, in a populated area and in a region to which Hezbollah has access.          

According to the Israeli army, this region is geographically similar to Lebanese towns and  is located in an Arab town in Galilee.      

The Israeli army has lately been promoting this special unit through the Israeli media as one of the leading units that recorded an impressive performance in the July 2006, and that will be at the forefront of the land force in case of a war with Lebanon.     

The unit’s commander Chadi Abou Fares said that the unit is getting ready to get out of the next war with distinction. Training sessions in the Golan Heights included training to face Hezbollah targets.         

The Israel army’s statistics showed that 8 out of 10 young Druzes join this unit every year.
