Latest investigations into attack on al-Jadeed TV station

A Hezbollah official Abou Ali Kahlon visited Wissam Alaeddine at the Beirut state hospital, where he is detained after being caught red-handed when trying to burn the entrance of Al-Jadeed’ building.          

It was reported that the Hezbollah official reassured Alaeddine and asked him if he needed anything during the visit that lasted five minutes.                 

In this context, Wissam Alaeddine is still at the hospital receiving treatment for second degree burns. According to primary investigations, Alaeddine said that the attack committed against Al-Jadeed was aimed at forcing the media to shed the light on his position denouncing Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir’s statement against Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.         

Wissam Alaeddine did not mention to the investigators that he belongs to the “Resistance Brigades”; however he did say that he is a supporter of Hezbollah and Amal Movement. He denied being related to the people who were with him and did not mention their identities, stating only some nicknames.         

In this regard, security sources noted that efforts are underway to reveal the identities of all members of the group responsible for the attack.
