Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
delivered a speech Wednesday evening to commemorate the July 2006 war “victory”.
In his opening remarks, he stressed that the latter was a great defeat to Israel, “so much
that lectures and commissions followed”.
Nasrallah added, that the resistance movement
is not concerned with those who disagree with the notion of victory although Israel compares
it to other wars of a larger scale.
The Resistance is alert and its
military intelligence exposed Israel’s
maneuvers around its mid-range rocket facilities, Nasrallah said.
“We were able to move those
facilities without the knowledge of the Israeli’s”, Nasrallah said.
“Israeli’s are bluffers, and
speak of the ‘second Lebanese war’ as through it were a great accomplishment”
he added.
“Setting all ‘noise’ in this
country, one cannot deny that there is a Resistance that works day and night against
an impeding enemy, Israel
will be shocked when it decides to strike again. Our fate is victory!” he said.
The victory marked by the resistance
in Lebanon lead to the “attack"
on Syria, and if political consent in Lebanon ever
did exist, our achievements would have reached higher grounds, he said. Some people in Lebanon are doing the bidding of Israel whether they know it or not, Nasrallah added.
Commenting on Syria, the Hezbollah top man said that the Syrian regime risked its own "safety" to support resistance movements such Hezbollah and Hamas. "Name me one other Arab nation that supported peoples fighting the Israeli enemy", he asked.
When food was not delivered into Gaza, Syria was sending food and weapons to the Gazans! This is the Syria they are fighting today, he said. "Some of the best weapons which were granted to us to help defeat the Israeli enemy were Syrian made" he added.
"When the US entered Iraq, it dissolved and weakened the Iraqi army. This is its plans for other Arab nations, hence why our army in Lebanon is underfunded and unsupported" he said. "Our only security lies with our Lebanese Army and slandering campaigns only serve the Israeli enemy! The US will not grant our army weapons to defend the country against Israel", he stressed.
"The same plan is now being implemented against the Syrian army who are being defamed, shot and killed day after day. We present our utmost condolences to their families and loved one" Nasrallah said.
