Caretaker State Minister for Refugees Affairs Mouin al-Merhebi said that “caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil is not concerned with the issue of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, unless through the cabinet,” stressing that every statement launched by Bassil in this regard is considered as his personal decision that does not represent the Lebanese state and does not commit the government.
During a press conference, al-Merhebi emphasized that the Arab Economic and Social Development held in Beirut is exclusively related to joint economic policies, “which means that the refugee crisis will be disassociated.”
