No safe haven for Syrian refugees in Lebanon amid absence of relief plan

Syrian refugees have no clue as to what awaits them in Lebanon amid the absence of a clear relief plan in this regard, as announced by Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abu Faou following his meeting with PM Najib Mikati.   

Abou Faour stressed on Monday that the Ministry received calls from several countries offering their help to find a solution to the problem of displaced Syrians flocking to Lebanon.        

Abu Faour said that in the days to come, he will be holding a meeting to draw a joint action plan for all concerned ministries. According to this plan, every ministry assumes responsibility in accordance to its role.  

Meanwhile, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has been bracing for an exodus from Syria and a month ago doubled its forecast for the number of refugees who could flee this year to 185,000.    

It has appealed for Syria's neighbors to keep their borders open to allow people to reach safe havens, as Syrian forces fight to recapture parts of Damascus from rebels.
