A delegation comprised of the relatives of 5 of the 11 Lebanese detainees in Syria met on Wednesday with the General Security General Abbas Ibrahim whom was appointed to follow up the case by order of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman.

Sources told LBCI that Ibrahim will travel to Turkey in 48 hours time to meet with the Turkish Minister of Interior and Chief of Intelligence, with Qatar being an option for the second leg of his efforts.

Ibrahim called on the relatives to keep calm, allowing procedure to take its course. He urged them not to stage their movement come Thursday on the Beirut Int'l Rd.

Lebanese Ambassador for Human Rights Ali Akil Khalil was also present in the meeting. The latter had been involved in the recent negotiations pertaining to the detainees file. He also has contacts with the alleged kidnapper "Abu Ibrahim" et al.

Following Khalil's request from "Abu Ibrahim" to deliver some sort of reassurance on the detainees, the latter in turn asked Khalil to head for Antioche, where he would subsequently be taken to the location of the kidnapped. Khalil was also able to establish contact with one of the detainees, Abbas Cheib who had reassured Khalil of the "good health" of the rest of the abductees.
