Introduction to the evening news 04-08-2012
A number of the 11 Lebanese abductees escaped. Sorry, they did not escape; they were kidnapped, and the head of the kidnappers “Abu Ibrahim” was injured. No wait. Abu Ibrahim is fine; he was slightly wounded in the hand.

You know what? Don’t believe any of these stories. There was no escape, no clashes; the 11 abductees are safe and sound and are still in the custody of Ammar al-Daydikhi aka “Abu Ibrahim”.

A war of rumors was waged in the region today, wiping out the line between reality and fiction, this line that was already abolished by the unbelievable photos of massacres in Syria. The line was also further blurred by the statements made today by a Syrian security official to AFP; he said that Aleppo’s battle has not started yet, adding that ongoing incidents are only “starters” to what will follow.

However, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, these “starters” were the bloodiest in the month of July during which 4239 people were killed by artillery and aircraft fire.

As for Lebanon that decided two days ago to deport 14 Syrians to their burning country, overlooking all these facts, it seems that it felt a sense of guilt or that the local and foreign pressures were fruitful.

In this regard, the Prime Minister said he will make sure no one is deported based on his political affiliation. As for the self-disassociation policy, the President re-explained it from the Beiteddine Palace, saying that there is no room for impartiality when it comes to humanitarian cases such as sheltering Syrian displaced. The General Security even offered facilities to the Syrians who want to renew their temporary residency in Lebanon.
