Rai calls on the Lebanese to build a beautiful country in the image of God

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai said Saturday that: “Religion is for God and the nation is for everyone. There is no Man on earth not connected to God Almighty. Each one according to his religion, faith and ideology derives from God spiritual, human, social and nationalist values; in other words, we [the patriarchate and Lebanon] believe that God wants us, individuals and groups, to build a society in his image.”

Rai added, during a visit to Baalbek-Hermel region, as part of his pastoral tour, that he supports everyone without exception as his visit includes Shiites, Druze, Sunnites, and Muslims as well as Maronites and Christians”.

In his concluding remarks, Rai reiterated his rejection to war and violence, calling on the Lebanese to overcome all differences and disputes and build a beautiful country in the image of God.
