Jreissati: Solution for waste crisis in north Lebanon is near
Minister of Environment Fadi Jreissati called on Wednesday to spare the environment from politics or else “everyone will pay the price.”
 
Jreissati’s comments were made during a press conference whereby he asserted that landfills cannot be established for each Lebanese region due to their high cost.
 
He also noted that his ministry deployed efforts in order to implement the decentralization in the waste management.
 
“We are not running away from responsibility,” Jreissati added.
 
As for the waste crisis in north Lebanon, the minister said that the solution is near, adding however that the solution will not satisfy everyone.
