Former Lebanese President Michel Aoun files complaint citing ‘misleading information’ in Beirut blast case

Former Lebanese President Michel Aoun said Wednesday that he had filed a criminal complaint over reports containing claims about the contents of a submission by Lebanon’s public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation in the Beirut port explosion case.

“Out of respect for the blood of the victims and to safeguard truth and justice,” Aoun said he filed the complaint over alleged offenses including “fabricating misleading information, defamation and breaching the confidentiality of the investigation.”
