Violent clashes renewed between Tripoli's rival neighborhoods of Bab el-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, resulting in the killing of 6 people so far including 13-year-old boy, Ali Ahmad Mahmoud and Zakariya Khoder Al Omer.

reported
a number of shells on al-Zahiriyah as a fire erupted in Al-Saydeh
neighborhood due
to fallen missiles in areas surrounding the clashes field.
The clashes in Tripoli earlier caused the death of another person,
Citizen Atef Arna’out, and the injury of more than 30 people others since Monday afternoon. A Lebanese
security official told AFP that at least 23 people have been wounded in Tripoli’s
clashes.
Clashes renewed in Tripoli's volatile Bab el-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen on Tuesday. In those regards, the LAF command announced that so far 9 soldiers including an officer have sustained serious wounds. In those regards, LAF
sources denied via LBCI its alleged withdrawal from Bab el-Tebbaneh and Jabal
Mohsen,stressing that it will continue its mission to maintain security.
This as residents of Jabal Mohsen and Bab el-Tebbaneh exchanged accusations over the sources of gunfire.
"There is no armed presence in
Bab al-Tebbaneh" residents said, urging the army to respond to the source of fire".
Arab Democratic Party:
In this context, Media official of
Arab Democratic Party Abdul Latif Saleh told LBCI that the sniping operations
are mutual and the LAF is responding.
Abdul Latif Saleh called for putting
an end to fighting, stressing that he supports calm and coexistence in Tripoli.
On another note, the head of the political committee at the Arab
Democratic Party Refaat Ali Eid postponed the press conference that he
was expected to hold at 3 pm today, till Wednesday
to avoid exposing reporters and media persons to danger.
On the field:
Sporadic sniping targeted Syria Street, al-Nasseri Mosque, the wheat market and the already blocked international road linking Tripoli to Akkar.
The LAF also cut-off Tripoli’s Al-Mallouli roundabout leading to
al-Beddawi and Jabal Mohsen on Tuesday morning due to the ongoing sniping. Sources reported the fall of an RPG on Syria Street near an LAF machinery.
The rest
of Tripoli’s neighborhoods witnessed little to no movement due to the
security situation in Bab al-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen. Meanwhile, banks and some commercial
institutions opened their doors.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, a shell hit and burned a garment shop in Al Turk building in Tripoli's Syria Street. Residents are trying to contain the flames despite the ongoing
sniping.
Reports claim that fighters used different calibers of weapons such as rockets
which landed in Tripoli’s Zahiriya area and its surrounding. Many residents of these tense regions fled to safer areas in Tripoli.
Meanwhile, Beb Al Tebaneh's dignitaries convened as communication continues in Jabal Mohsen in an attempt to bring about a resolution.
Tripoli meeting:
In this context, a political meeting was held today at
4 pm at MP Mohammad Kabbara’s residence in Tripoli, which the LAF's Cheif of Intelligence in the North, General Amer Al Hassan, later joined.The security situation in the
city topped the agenda.
Following Tripoli’s meeting, MP Mohammad Kabara said that the “Syrian
regime is trying to spark sedition after failing to “blow up" the
situation in the North through former minister Michel Samaha's attempted
bomb plots."
Kabbara called on the residents of Jabal Mohsen
not to be dragged into this “despicable” scheme orchestrated by the
Syrian regime. He also urged the LAF to target those who instigated the
clashes.
“We agreed with the figures of Bab al Tebbaneh to an immediate ceasefire”, Kabbara said.
