Lebanese PM Najib Mikati stressed on Wednesday that as the countries officials, they claim responsibility for the current situation, and awaiting the right circumstances to hold dialogue on the issue of forming an extraordinary government.

"The call for the resignation began since the formation of the government and we have been saying ever since the first day that we have a national mission and we will carry it out as long as the national need to do so still prevails," he said before his visitors at the Grand Serail.

Prime Minister asserted that the gory ongoing incidents in Tripoli were, on a broader level, a new attempt to involve Lebanon in external conflicts.

In that respect, Mikati said that instructions were given to the Lebanese army and to security forces to firmly control the situation and arrest those involved.
He also stressed the importance leaders' support to the Lebanese army to ensure the success of its mission.

In terms of handling the security situation especially in Tripoli, Mikati convened today at the Grand Serail with Interior Minister Marwan Charbel.

“Political parties cannot distance themselves from recent events, their repercussions and consequences affecting Lebanon the state and the entity”, Mikati later said via Twitter.

Mikati added that Berri realizes “the magnitude of the burden on his shoulders and knows his calm demeanor", noting that he does not hesitate to take the appropriate decision.

The Premier expressed his fear towards Lebanon’s further involvement in the Syrian crisis, calling on all parties to deviate the country away from the "line of fire".

Mikati concluded by saying that Lebanon’s ruling system is not only based on the Prime Minister, but on institutions, "this is why the responsibility falls on all sides," he concluded.

Mikati also met with Education Minister Hassan Diab who said following the meeting that the second session of the Lebanese official exams shall be held on time and the upcoming Cabinet session is scheduled to discuss salary ranks' issue.

Asked about the Syrian refugees' staying at Bekaa district schools, Diab said refugees were occupying two schools and they shall be evacuated before the beginning of the scholastic year.

Premier Mikati met later on with former Ministers Adel Hamiyeh and Fawzi Salloukh, the Lebanese Ambassadors to Qatar and to Egypt, Hassan Saad and Khaled Zyadeh
