Pietton: Embassy statements reflect official position of France

French ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton told As-Safir daily Thursday that the statement issued by the French embassy reflects France’s official position, refusing to add anything to it.

The French embassy in Lebanon had released a statement Wednesday, in which it voiced regret over the political storm sparked by Rai’s position, describing it as unjustified. The French embassy confirmed that the solid ties between France, Lebanon and the Maronite church remain unaffected by this political debate.
