General Jamil Sayyed states his position on the accusations listed in Samaha's case
General Jamil Sayyed held a press conference on Tuesday in which he stated several positions on the latest events on the Lebanese scene.

Concerning the accusations in Former Minister Michel Samaha's case, Sayyed said: "saying that I was in the vehicle with Samaha while transporting explosives alludes to an involvement".

He added that compromising between this case and the Syrian issue is a must knowing that Samaha's case is being approached in the same manner as late PM Rafic Hariri's assassination case.

General Sayyed criticized President Michel Sleiman because admittedly said that he could not disqualify Mirza, Rifi, and Hassan. "President Sleiman has to be just and the president that cannot punish cannot reward," Sayyed added.

He addressed PM Najib Mikati telling him that it is a shame to consider the cabinet he is presiding as unbreakable.

Sayyed called for the formation of a judicial file, and for the referral of Riffi and Hassan to the judiciary for leaking information.

In addition to this, Sayyed called for keeping Samaha under house arrest until Kfoury's return.

In his concluding remarks he confirmed that he would be running as an independent candidate on Hezbollah and Amal's electoral list in the Northern Bekaa.

Sources to LBCI: General Sayyed’s hearing session is scheduled for next Thursday.
