Investigation procedures in Aoun's assassination attempt

Investigations in MP Michel Aoun's alleged assassination attempt on Saturday evening in Sidon are stillongoing and the latest information show that investigations are now at the level of scientific analysis and study.          

According to security experts, the work mechanism followed the below pattern:                      

On Saturday, criminal evidence examined the car in Rabieh, seized the bullets and sent them to the laboratory to determine the type of weapon used and source distance.            

Relevant authorities will be questioning the driver of the vehicle and others who were with him in the 4 car convoy to identify the area from which the bullet was shot.               

Security forces will then geographically scan the region starting from the eastern route of Nazih Bizri highway towards Beirut between Bahaa Aldin Al-Hariri Mosque, and Al-Awali Bridge.                    

After examining cameras in Bahaa Aldin al-Hariri Mosque, criminal evidence teams will then examine surveillance cameras in surrounding buildings.

Within this framework, security experts mentioned to LBCI that these procedures will take a few days and after upon completion, a detailed report will be raised to the Interior Minister Marwan Charbel.             

Experts pointed out that nothing is final regarding the weapon's type or the shooting site.
