Sleiman calls for law that ensures expat vote

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman delivered on Thursday evening a televised speech, where he said that the government’s role and its institutions are solidifying and gaining strength.

Speaking of the electoral law, Sleiman said that a law that ensures the rights of expatriates’ votes is an indication of democracy. He added that the right to vote is basic and essential, pointing that the electoral law needed is one that would ensure fair representation to all parties.

“Your country is proud of you as you are of your country, represent Lebanon as best as you can”, he said addressing the expatriates.
