Aoun: October 13th is painful day we are proud of
During the October 13th commemoration ceremony held at Deir el Kalaa Monastery in Beit Meri, FPM leader Michel Aoun delivered a speech in which he stated that the 13th of October 1990 is not a holiday, but a painful day the Lebanese are proud of.

Aoun stressed that “the 13th of October was the final battle in a long military war that turned Lebanon into confessions, confessions into doctrines, and parties into military wings.”

Aoun added that the conflicts in the Arab World and their repercussions along with Israel’s interventions transformed Lebanon into a battle field and the Lebanese people became refugees in their own land.

The Former General also said that submission would’ve stolen Lebanon’s free will and that refusal made everyone face the hardest challenge, emphasizing that he accepted back then to preside the cabinet because he is a soldier and he never backs down no matter how hard things get.
