Salim Aoun denies FPM supplying weaponry in Lebanon’s Zahle

Former FPM MP Salim Aoun denied allegations stipulating that the Free Patriotic Movement was supplying weapons to residents in the Zahle area, saying that such rumors are pre-calculated in light of the political tension shrouding the country.

Aoun stressed via a political statement issued by his media office, that his bloc has no enemies within the Lebanese borders as “to arm its partisans” since the LAF is the sole guarantor of citizens' rights and security in the country.

“Over a span of 15 years the FPM’s sole purpose has been safeguarding the independence, sovereignty, and freedom of the country. The bloc only adheres to peaceful demonstrations and civilized means of expression, and does not resort to the rules of the militia,” the statement concluded.
