Clashes erupt between Syrians heading to vote and a number of men-[PHOTOS+VIDEOS]

Clashes erupted on Thursday at the western lane of the Yasouh al-Malak highway between a number of men and Syrians in buses heading to cast their votes at the Syrian embassy.

This as a number of cars were destroyed during the clashes that caused a suffocating traffic jam in the region.

The Lebanese army then intervened to disperse the crowds and to reopen the highway.

The state-run National News Agency noted that the cause of the clashes is the gathering of a number of buses and cars with Syrians on board carrying flags of Syria and the Syrian Nationalist Party and pictures of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
