Sleiman warns political parties of strife

President Michel Sleiman warned all political parties of the danger of strife and to commit to the Baabda Declaration to isolate Lebanon from foreign conflicts. Sleiman called on the politicians to remain calm and to avoid mobilization to overcome this critical period.

President Sleiman met earlier with Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and Army Commander Jean Kahwaji and asked them to take all necessary measures to control the situation in Sidon and arrest those who were responsible for yesterday’s incident.

Sleiman also received Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri. The two discussed the latest local and regional events.
