Mikati against the politicization of the economy

In a speech delivered during the annual Arab Banking Conference, Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for steering the economy away from political objectives saying: “Lebanon has maintained a margin of growth although it has been impacted by regional and local changes.”

“Lebanon sustained the least amount of damage during the global economic meltdown, although it had to face much on its internal front.”

Mikati confirmed the leading role of the banking sector in succeeding to attract deposits, lauding the Governor of the Central Bank for strengthening the banking sector.
