Asmar calls for considering LBP 100000 per day as transport compensation

Head of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers Bechara Asmar called on Friday to "consider LBP 100000 LBP per day as transport compensation in both private and public sectors after massive increase of gasoline prices."

He also demanded "giving public sector, independent interests, public institutions, municipalities, public hospitals, public and vocational education sector, contract teachers, retirees, Lebanon's National Social Security Fund and Tele Liban a full month’s help for every salary for a full year," explaining that "this support should be calculated in end-of-service benefits for all who retire during this period."

"The need for a meeting to be held by the Index committee and fruitful solutions as raising minimum wage for workers in private sector, granting them monthly assistance, re-calculating end-of-service benefits at 3900 LBP rate, in order to compensate for the radical loss from national currency collapse,” Asmar pointed out.
