Safadi to LBCI: I will remain in the gvt in the wait of a comprehensive political agreement

Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi said on Wednesday that An-Nahar Daily’s report quoting his statements on a governmental change is “partial”, adding that in his opinion, the change will emanate from a comprehensive political agreement between all concerned parties. “This will, in turn, reflect positively on the economic situation,” he said.

Safadi told Nharkom Said that what he had said yesterday via the article was not intended as critique towards the government, stressing that he is "part of this government and will stay in it until a comprehensive political solution is reached.”

Asked on whether he was ready to head the upcoming government and whether he would back down on his decision not to run for parliamentary elections, he said “I hope we will get rid of the country’s political divide as soon as possible.”
