Larijani in Lebanon after Syria leg, to head for Turkey later

Iranian Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani, arrived in Beirut on Friday, winding up a visit to the battle scarred Syrian capital, Damascus.

Larijani, who arrived aboard a private jet, is expected to be holding talks with Lebanese senior officials, to later hold a press conference on the outcome of his meetings.

Larijani is expected to wrap up his Lebanon visit tomorrow morning, where he will be heading to Turkey for more talks on the Syrian crisis.

Larijani had left Tehran on Friday morning whereby he said that his visit to Syria aims at finding a solution for the crisis, stressing that the opposition will fail in its attempt to create political chaos.

“We support democracy and reform in Syria but we reject any reckless operation," he added.
