Adviser to the President of the Republic on health affairs Khoury explains current situation of COVID-19 infections
Adviser to the President of the Republic on health affairs Walid Khoury stated on Wednesday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI that the current wave of Coronavirus is severe and spreads rapidly.
 
He explained the difference between the Delta and Omicron variants, saying that the first affects the lungs, while the second affects the trachea, and that “Omicron is more dangerous than Delta.”
 
Regarding the numbers of COVID-19 infections, he revealed that 29 people under the age of 19 died as a result of the virus, stressing that they had not been vaccinated and were suffering from chronic diseases.
 
He then announced that 93% of those admitted to hospitals or ICU are unvaccinated.
