Ghanem: Lebanon will pay dearly if it loses international legitimacy

MP Robert Ghanem said Thursday that “the cabinet’s evasion of its commitment towards the international community and the STL will be a flagrant mistake”, adding that Lebanon will pay dearly if it loses international legitimacy.

Ghanem confirmed, during a phone call with “Acharq” station, that the STL will press on whether the cabinet approves its funding or not.

Commenting on the possible wage hike, Ghanem voiced concern that the increase would be applied in a way that would exhaust the state budget, which, in turn, would increase the VAT. “The prices will soar so high that the cabinet will not be able to curb them.”
