Mikati confirms Lebanon’s commitment to help Syrian refugees
PM Najib Mikati said Thursday that Lebanon is committed to extend humanitarian support to Syrian refugees on Lebanese territories, confirming his attempt to disassociate Lebanon from the events in Syria.

Mikati told AFP that Lebanon is beginning to feel economic impacts from 7 months of uprisings in Syria, adding that “Lebanese exports to Syria are decreasing, which will take its toll on the Lebanese economy.”

As Mikati estimated the number of Syrian refugees in Lebanon to be 5,000, he confirmed that he has not received any complaints about the handing over of soldiers or members of the Syrian opposition.
