Ambassador Ali: No need to make a big fuss over Arsal incident
Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdel-Karim said Thursday that “it is unnecessary to make a big fuss over the infiltration of Syrian tanks into the Bekaa town of Arsal.”

“The Syrian and Lebanese sides are handling the issue so there is no need to spur media frenzy,” he added. In his turn, Greek Orthodox Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim confirmed his rejection of division between Lebanon and Syria, hoping that the attempts to distort Syria’s image will come to an end.

Abdel-Karim praised Patriarch Hazim’s optimistic stance on Syria. Syrian tanks entered the Bekaa border village of Arsal and fired in the direction of an abandoned battery factory Tuesday, where they believed gunmen were hiding.
