Clashes renew between Tripoli's Bab el-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen

Clashes renewed between Tripoli’s Bab el-Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, killing one person in Jabal Mohsen and wounding a woman and a child in Bab el-Tebbaneh. Similarly, Sheikh Omar Ismail, a prominent cleric in the area also sustained wounds to his arm.

In this regard, a meeting was held at MP Mohammad Kabbara's residence in Tripoli, in the presence of political, religious and security officials to try to find a way out of the current crisis in the city.

During the morning hours, cautious calm prevailed in Tripoli, as sniper fire intensified in Syria Street, Souk al-Kameh, Al-Saydeh neighborhood, Al-Shaarani and the vegetable market.

Militants exchanged fire, using light and medium weapons as well as rockets that reached the Zaherieh and Kadisha neighborhoods and the city’s center, locations more or less distant from the hot spots.

In this context, the Lebanese Army fired back at the gunfire sources and conducted several raids to arrest the violators.

The death toll in Tripoli clashes rose to seven people after the death of the citizen Ali Hasan Abido in Jabal Mohsen, while 61 people were injured .
