PM Mikati calls on UN to work to put end to Israeli daily violations
Prime Minister Najib Mikati reaffirmed on Tuesday Lebanon's commitment to implementing UN Resolution 1701, praising the army's ongoing cooperation with United Nations Interim Forces In Lebanon operating in the south.
 
During his meeting with UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Aroldo Lázaro, at the head of a delegation, Mikati emphasized the stability of the situation in the south, calling on the UN to work to put an end to the Israeli daily violations.
 
He expressed gratitude to UNIFIL for its efforts to assist Lebanese citizens in their land and to promote sustainable development in the south.
 
On another note, PM Mikati presided over an energy meeting attended by Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayad, World Bank Director of the Mashreq Department Saroj Kumar Jha, World Bank's representative in Lebanon Mona Kouzi, World Bank Director of Infrastructure and Development Programs Hossam Beidas, General Director of Electricité Du Liban Kamal Hayek, and Mikati’s advisors Samir Daher and Ziad Mikati.
 
In a separate context, President Mikati discussed the political developments in Lebanon and the region with French Ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillo.
