Supervisory commission for elections receives EU delegation
Lebanon's supervisory commission for elections, headed by retired judge Nadim Abdelmalak received on Friday at its headquarters a delegation from the European Union headed by Chief Observer and Member of the European Parliament Giorgi Holvini.
Holvini explained that the mission is in Lebanon based on the administrative agreement between the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, the European Union and the supervisory commission for elections, and is tasking with monitoring the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He added that around 200 observers, including experts and analysts, will be sent to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections next May in Lebanon and abroad.
 
For his part, Abdelmalak briefed the European delegation on the preparatory measures carried out by the commission at the current stage, and thanked Holvini for his visit and for the European Union's support for the supervisory commission for elections.
