Minister Mawlawi receives desire of Arab League, Russia to monitor polls

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Ambassador Abed al-Rahman al-Solh conveyed on Monday to Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi, the desire of the Arab League to participate in monitoring the Lebanese parliamentary elections.

Also, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov submitted a letter to Mawlawi in which he expressed his country's desire to participate in monitoring the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Mawlawi also met with UN Resident & Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon Najat Rochdi, with whom he discussed the UN's programs in Lebanon and the ongoing coordination with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior.
