Minister of Public Health Dr. Firass Abiad received on Tuesday at the “Baabda Governmental University Hospital” donations from Japan that included solar energy systems, medical supplies for intensive care, and a system for sterilizing government hospitals.
This donation comes as part of the "Urgent Support to Critical Health Facilities in Lebanon" Project, funded by the Japanese government, which was successfully completed through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
A new project entitled "Urgent Support to the Health Sector in Lebanon" will be launched, aiming at providing a number of government hospitals with medical equipment and solar energy systems.
