Charbel denies receiving any list from Houri, the latter replies

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel’s media bureau denied on Sunday receiving any list from MP Ammar Houri that includes the names of Lebanese officials targets of assassination plots, stressing that "Charbel’s intervention is limited to the minister’s request from the prime minister to increase the number of the state security members to provide the required security in collaboration with the rest security apparatuses."

The bureau added that the lists Charbel has are considered with extreme cautious, emphasizing that the necessary measures were taken to protect those who are in danger the most.

For his part, Houri stated that he hasn’t mentioned in any of his statements that he was the one who delivered the list to minister Charbel, stressing that he clearly said that “a delegate of the Future Movement handed over the list on Friday November 16th at 11:30 am to Minister Charbel.”

Houri also revealed that he contacted minister Charbel “who confirmed reporting the issue to PM Najib Mikati who back then was about to leave the country and that the premiere promised to follow up the issue once he returns to Lebanon, asking Charbel to remind him of the issue.”
