Economic Bodies reject pay scale, call on president Sleiman to intervene

On the backdrop of Lebanon's economic interest, the Economic Bodies declared on Monday their rejection of the series of ranks and salaries.

For his part, Head of the Economic Bodies, Former Minister Adnan Kassar said that any improvement in the pay scale with a declining growth in national economy will lead to negative effects on macro economic level.

As for the Chairman of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Mohamed Choucair, he said that a collapse in economy will lead to "chaos beyond repair."

In this context, Choucair said that dialogue is the only means to reach solutions on the condition that it is linked to canceling the series of ranks and salaries to reach steps that revitalize the economy.

In this framework, President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists Nehme Efram and the President of Beirut Traders Association Nicolas Chammas, warned of an economic break down, calling on President Sleiman's "immediate interference."
