Berri keen on resuming sub-parliamentary sessions before the end of holidays

Deputies quoted the Speaker Nabih Berri after the Wednesday periodic meeting as saying that he remains keen on acting with openness and wisdom in order to discuss the electoral law, stressing on holding the elections on due time.

Deputies pointed out at that there are positive indications in light of the recent talks held between the Speaker and deputies of March 14 in order to resume the work of the sub-parliamentary committees.

They added that Berri is waiting for a final decision in this regard and is ardent to resume the aforementioned parliamentary work before the end of the holidays.

Separately, Berri stressed on the importance of concentrating the efforts in order to meet with the political, security, and economic entitlements in light of the developments of the Syrian crisis.

He also warned of the risk that some international and regional parties are trying to drain Lebanese waters by attempts of using the water of the Litani River in order to enrich the Jordan River and desalinate the Tabariya Lake.
