As soon as work resumed in Lebanon’s banks and the strike of the Association of Banks in Lebanon ended, one of the banks in the region of Hamra area was stormed by a depositor who held employees and customers as hostages.

In the details, one of the citizens entered the bank, demanding to be handed over a part of his money, amounting to 209,000 dollars, while he was carrying a military weapon and gasoline, threatening to set himself on fire and kill those in the branch.

The depositor’s brother explained that his brother did not enter the bank with any weapon but was carrying gasoline, adding that the weapon in his possession belonged to the bank.
He also confirmed that he was not with his brother inside the ban, but declared full solidarity and support for his brother’s step to retrieve his money in order to be able to follow up on their father’s treatment.

He further stated that his brother took this step after many promises from the bank's administration to acquire at least $5,000 for the medical treatment, none of which were fulfilled.

He continued by claiming that his brother is ready to surrender and go to prison once his deposit is received.
