Member of the Democratic Gathering bloc MP Wael Abou Faour stressed on Tuesday that dialogue with Hezbollah is necessary given the nature of the country, indicating that Jumblatt discussed during his meeting with Hezbollah the issue of the relationship between Hezbollah, Amal Movement and the Free Patriotic Movement.
 
Abou Faour then confirmed that Jumblatt would not choose a March 8 candidate or a “challenge candidate.”
 
“The president who is strong in our opinion is the one who is strong in his decisions, relations, and administration, not in his popular base,” he said.
 
He also pointed out that “the meeting in Bkerke was scheduled before the meeting with Hezbollah.”
 
“I support Geagea's call for the movement's representatives and other political forces to agree on a name in order to provide a certain level of balance in the electoral process,” Abou Faou added.
 
He went on to explain that there is no contact between them and Saad Hariri, saying that the latter made a decision not to interfere in political life.
