Zasypkin: Demands to oust Assad lead to a dead end

Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin stressed on Thursday that regarding the Syrian crisis, Moscow is committed to applying UN Security Council’s resolutions 2024 and 2043 as well the Geneva Convention.

Zasypkin who met with Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour added that demands to oust President Bashar Assad will lead to a dead end, emphasizing that the requests to refer the Syrian case to the International Criminal Court hinders the achievement of the essential objectives that should be translated by the stop of bloodshed and the launching of dialogue between the regime and the opposition according to the conditions currently proposed.
