Mufti Qabbani: Lebanese quarrels are not between Christians and Muslims

Sunni Mufti of the Republic, Mohammad Rashid Qabbani, said that the relations between Christians and Muslims in Lebanon are characterized by tolerance and coexistence, adding that the ongoing quarrels are not between Christians and Muslims; they are political disputes. “I hope Lebanon will be able to solve these disputes”, he said.

The Mufti met with Norwegian ambassador Sfein Asse in Dar al Fatwa where they touched on the general situation in the Arab region as well as the Arab-Israeli conflict. He also met with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Tawfik to discuss the latest Coptic incidents in Cairo.
