Vatican names Cardinal Rai one of the 10 top people of 2012

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rai was selected by Inside the Vatican monthly magazine as one of the Top Ten people in 2012 for being "an example of great courage, fidelity to the Church and heroic Christian charity".

Rai was ranked 7th as per the article written by Dr. Robert Moynihan who described the Cardinal as “one of the key leaders of the Christian communities in the Middle East.”
